Dr. S. Sackett attended Nebraska Wesleyan Univeristy in Lincoln, Nebraska where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Chemistry Minor. He then completed his doctorate coursework at Des Moines University - College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Sackett moved to Arizona in 2001 to complete his Internship and Family Medicine Residency at Tempe St. Luke's Hospital in Tempe, Arizona. He is board certified in Family Medicine.
Dr. S.K. Sackett also practices Emergency Medicine regularly. He has remained active in this area of medicine since focusing on emergency medicine while in medical school and throughout his residency. He has over 7 years experience working as an ER attending physician. Dr. Sackett travels around the country providing emergency room staffing services in various VA and IHS facilities. Dr. Sackett also has considerable experience working in Urgent Care settings.
Dr. Sackett served as Chief Resident of his family medicine program. He also was selected to complete a Training in Health Policy Studies (TIPS) Fellowship through The New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine which he completed in 2004. Dr. Sackett was also named to Phoenix Magazine's list of "Top Docs" in 2010. Dr. Sackett has an additional interest in sports medicine having worked in the past with the Milwaukee Brewers, Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona Cardinals, and numerous local high schools. In his spare time, Dr. Sackett enjoys aviation, athletics, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family.
